Move in, move out or move house
Which household request to use when you move in to a household, move out of one, or your whole household moves to a new address.
Choose the right request

Tell us your whole household moved
Open My Household
Open My Household. On a phone, tap More at the bottom of the screen first.
Choose We moved
Tap the purple Request Household Update button, then tap We moved (change household address).
The page We Moved opens.
Answer the first question
Under Is everyone in your household moving? *, tap Yes, everyone or No, only some of us.
If you tap No, only some of us, the people who are moving each need to join or create a household at the new address. Tap Join a household or Create a new household.
Enter the new address
Under What is your new home address?, fill in the address where your household lives now. See Create a new household for help with each address box.
Go to review
Tap the purple Review & Submit button at the bottom.
Add a note (optional)
Under Anything staff should know?, you can type a note, for example the date you moved.
Tick the box
Tap the square next to I declare the people in my household live at this address most of the time and the information is true. False information may result in benefits being repaid. *
Send it
Tap the purple Submit Request button.
You see Request sent. You can follow it in the Requests tab of My Household.
If you see Your profile community doesn't match your household address. If your household moved, let us know. at the top of My Household, tap We moved to update your address.
Add your household's address
If My Household says Your household doesn't have an address on file yet., tap Add your household's address. Fill in the address the same way as above, then tap Review & Submit and Submit Request.
Move out of your household
If you are leaving your household:
- To live with another household, use Join a household.
- To start a new home, use Create a new household.
- If you are leaving and not joining anyone, tap Request Household Update, then Request to Exit Household (Remove Yourself). Type your reason in Exit Reason * and tap Submit Request.
If you are the Head of Household, you must choose another member to become the Head before you leave.
